Privacy Policy

Cat Arcade is a static website. It has no user accounts, no login, no database and no server-side code that receives information from you. This policy explains what that means in practice, and what changes if the site owner enables advertising or analytics.

Last updated: 15 September 2026.

Information we do not collect

The site itself does not ask for, receive or store any of the following:

  • Your name, email address or any other contact details, except if you choose to send them through a contact form that the owner has connected to a third-party form provider.
  • Account credentials - there are no accounts.
  • Payment information - nothing on this site is for sale.
  • Your game scores or gameplay data on any server. Scores never leave your device.
  • Location data.
  • Any profile of you built by us.

Information stored in your own browser

The games and site preferences use your browser's localStorage. This is storage on your own device. It is readable only by pages on this site, it is never transmitted to us, and we have no way of seeing it. The following keys are used:

KeyWhat it storesWhy
ca-themeLight or dark preferenceSo the site opens in the theme you chose
ca-soundSound on or offSo games respect your audio preference
ca-hs-<game>Your best score for a gameTo show a personal best to beat
ca-progress-<game>Level progress in the two adventure gamesSo you do not restart from level one
ca-favouritesGames you marked as favouritesTo show them on the games page
ca-recentThe last few games you openedTo offer a quick way back to them
ca-consentYour response to the consent noticeSo you are not asked repeatedly

You can erase all of this at any time by clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings. Doing so removes your high scores and preferences and nothing else - there is no server-side copy to restore from.

Cookies

The site's own code does not set any cookies. Browser storage is used instead, and it works differently: it is not sent with network requests. If advertising or analytics is enabled by the site owner, those third parties may set their own cookies, which is covered in the cookie policy.

Third-party services

Advertising

The site is built with advertising slots that the owner may fill with a third-party advertising network such as Google AdSense. CONFIGURE: confirm which advertising provider is in use, or state that none is, before launch. Where an advertising network is active, it operates independently of this site and may collect information about your visit - including your IP address, device and browser characteristics, and pages viewed - and may set cookies or use similar technologies, in order to serve and measure advertising. That processing is governed by the provider's own privacy policy, not by ours.

Google's advertising services, if used, are described in Google's own privacy documentation, and Google provides controls for personalised advertising in its Ads Settings. Third-party vendors may also use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can generally opt out of personalised advertising through the provider's own settings or through industry opt-out tools.

Analytics

No analytics service is included in the code as shipped. CONFIGURE: if the owner adds analytics, name the provider here and describe what it collects.

Contact form

The contact form is not connected to any service in the code as shipped, and submitting it currently sends nothing. If the owner connects it to a third-party form provider, the information you type into it will be transmitted to and stored by that provider, subject to their privacy policy.

Hosting

Static websites are served by a hosting provider, which will typically record standard server request information such as IP addresses and user agents for security and operational purposes. CONFIGURE: name the hosting provider here.

Children

The games here are suitable for children, and we have deliberately built a site that collects nothing from anybody, of any age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and there is no mechanism on this site by which a child could provide personal information to us. Parents concerned about third-party advertising should note that advertising, where enabled, is served by an external provider; the consent notice allows advertising and analytics to be declined.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, data protection law may give you rights over personal data held about you - including rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of that data. Because this site holds no personal data about you, there is generally nothing for us to give you, correct or delete. Where a third-party advertising provider processes data about your visit, those rights are exercised against that provider, whose policy explains how.

Data stored in your own browser by this site is entirely under your control and can be deleted through your browser at any time.

Changes to this policy

If the way the site works changes - for example, if advertising or analytics is enabled - this policy will be updated and the date at the top will change. Material changes will be reflected in the consent notice as well.
